Anton Corbijn

Last view days we enjoyed a long weekend off...
it was a fantastic weekend where we celebrated Kingsday here in the Netherlands
(the birthday of the King, an official day off with a lot of outside
events and organized games for the children).

We also visited the amazing exhibitions of photographer and director of music videos
Anton Corbijn at the Gemeentemuseum (Municipal museum) and the
Fotomuseum (museum for photography) at The Hague.
I am a huge fan of the impressive work of Anton Corbijn so visiting this double-exhibition
really was on top of my "to go" list since the opening at 21th of March

I have admired (again and again) the grainy black and white photos
he took of musicians in the 70s and 80s but I also liked his new themes and experiments
with different techniques, materials and colours.

The Gemeentemuseum - a beautiful art museum designed by dutch architect Berlage -  and the Fotomuseum organized the HOLLANDS DEEP (40 years of Corbijn’s life as a photographer)
and 1-2-3-4 (more than 300 shots selected by Anton Corbijn himself) exhibitions
to mark the sxtieth birthday of the photographer and I think it's
the most complete overview of his work in history...
a real must see for every fan of his work!

the exhibitions can be visited until June 21
